A Rhythmic Rainbow in Dance
EMERGENCE is a showcase of new and emerging Dance troops from developing countries.
HEAL has forged multi-ethnic relationships that celebrate the artistic and cultural contributions of developing world performers, these relationships date back to HEAL'S Parent, BackStreeT Galleries' relationship with the City's Cultural Affairs Performing Arts Division and several foreign consulates.
MISSION :
To specifically encourage cultural sensitivity in our YOUTH to become future visionaries for the enhanced enlightenment of the ARTS & HUMANITY.
PROGRAM GOALS:
EMERGENCE ‘s Rhythmic Rainbow encompasses HEAL'S philosophy to empower developing world performers in the preservation & presentation of their historical, cultural and artistic legacies. Each showcase is designed to promote cultural awareness and disintegrate ethnic bias and social barriers.
To present Artistic Expressions as a cultural experience showcasing the creative nuances,
that have helped define an Artist Cultural Identity.
To provide public opportunities to new and emerging third world artist.
To go into elementary schools and present Dance from a cultural perspective, to teach Wee People that “dance can tell a story” . That story is one of; as different as we may appear,
we are the same and Wee People all dance, all play and all learn the same way.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
The audiences are elementary school students K – 5., Wee People.
