Message from the CEO

Born into a family where music and art were constants, I was able to experience and appreciate the wonderful benefit of these incredible, exciting worlds. This came at home, at school and from my community. I can remember, that there was always one community organization that provided services for those less fortunate than I. The Heritage Empowered Arts Legacy, H.E.A.L. Inc . was founded on those same principles, to provide LEADERSHIP in developing ARTS services, events and products.

H.E.A.L. realizes that too many arts entities never venture outside their respective areas of comfortableness. However, that limitation hinders reaching the very people that are in need. We have tried to follow the axiom, “Nothing ventured, Nothing gained .”

We see that there are many organizations available to provide artistic programs, cultural awareness and entertainment. We believe that service is the guiding principle for a non-profit organization, and it is our primary commitment to our constituents. We first look at our Urban core, from a humanitarian perspective, to identify individuals and organizations that we can support through our creative ventures, providing “Visibility and Funding”.

We will continue to ask this question and assist our community in providing the wonderful benefits of the arts. We believe in the investment of resources that will not only address, but will also assess the needs of the changing multi-cultural landscape, that is Los Angeles. H.E.A.L. serves as a guardian; in the preservation and presentation of the historical, cultural and artistic legacies of our ethnically diverse urban core, by making primary investments in our young, that will inspire them, and allow them, to “Dare 2 Dream”.

We invite you to support us or just come and join us, as we present services, programs and events that “Address the Humanitarian Spirit”, as seen by our Founder.

Sincerely,
Eric Bates
