SHAPING BLACK CULTURE IN THE DIASPORA: AN ARK FOR THE 21ST CENTURY

MISSION STATEMENT:

Forge awareness, appreciation and support for the creative and artistic talents of African Diaspora descendents locally, nationally and internationally in order to map, coordinate and disseminate information regarding the global efforts of those engaged in the cultural economic dialogue shaping black arts, culture, entertainment and education in the 21st century and beyond.

PURPOSE

To host an Annual Conference entitled “Shaping Black Culture in the Diaspora: An Ark for the 21st Century”, a forum exploring the art, science and business of  cultural economics, history, aesthetics and the impact, arts and artists of the African Diaspora have on community and economic development world wide and host the International African Diaspora Day as part of the conference.

GOALS

To host monthly forums providing for the discussion, shaping and planning the annual conference.

To identify, contact and network with African Diaspora representatives involved and engaged in arts, culture and entertainment shaping black cultural economic and community development

To map the African Diaspora ecosystem and serve as a conduit for service and information dissemination

To establish an official website for the collection and dissemination of information

To host the International African Diaspora Day annually on October 11th

International African Diaspora Day

International African Diaspora Day Celebration is a component of  “Shaping Black Culture in the Diaspora: An Ark for the 21st Century” a conference held each year to address the urban cultural core and its  creative sector’s “best practices” for the health and long term sustainability  of black cultural expression  in African Diaspora, locally, nationally and internationally.
