Vision and Resource for Growth...

The Founder's Leadership Initiative

In our lives there comes a point of recognition where we must determine who we are, what we stand for and how do we demonstrate this reality. It was at this very point that I realized presenting the arts for public stimulation over the last ten years was not enough. The need to “be of service” to “lead a campaign”; to help those in my community, whom I recognize as “visibly invisible”, the Wee People and the visually challenged. I wanted to make sure my interest addressed their needs; I wanted to make sure I said;

                                 I SEE U, HOW CAN I BE OF SERVICE !

H.E.A.L. is providing the leadership and services needed to address the Arts & Cultural Education, Humanitarian and Public Health concerns of Angelinos. To accomplish this task; we have formed strategic partnerships with various city and private agencies, using the Arts as a tool to stimulate interest and bring focus to these issues of concern in Los Angeles’ urban core.

The arts have proven to serve as a catalyst, a viable tool in bringing attention to these issues. H.E.A.L. has taken center stage by understanding these issues and aligning themselves with agencies struggling to bring focus to the concerns of LA’s urban core. However our primary focus is still to use the Arts, as a tool for cultural enrichment, urban economic development, as well as offering a constructive outlet for the residents in our urban core and “improve the fabric of life for its physically challenged constituents”.

H.E.A.L.'s leadership initiative is to create conduits to channel the flow of dollars generated by the Art, Culture and Entertainment Industry into the community; to address a wide ranch of civic concerns in LA’s urban core. H.E.A.L. is helping to redirect the progressive economic benefits the Arts industry generates into our urban cores. Every dollar spent by local arts supported organizations or on local arts events, is spent four times over within that same community.

H.E.A.L. has developed productions and programming that have helped enhance the Art, Cultural Education and Entertainment value at some of the underperforming venues in Los Angeles in support of a host of urban issues.
One venue in particular; the Vision Theatre Complex in the Leimert Park urban corridor has a rich African American history. H.E.A.L. is working to preserve the heritage and legacy of the Vision complex by working with the 8th Council District, by providing the creative resources to bring attention to the council district “initiatives”.

Arts and Cultural organizations and events not only create income for those involved, but the community in which the organization and event are held also benefit exponentially.

H.E.A.L. Inc. is now engaged in brining this economic benefit to Los Angeles' urban core in support of constituents needs.
